Chief Executive Officer

With over 24 years in industry, Lucy's career as a winemaker, international wine buyer and wine business manager has seen her live and work in 4 different continents for esteemed businesses such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Coles, Accolade Wines and Champagne Taittinger. This international exposure and deep experience was a great foundation for her role as CEO role at Freestone Estate, commencing in late 2022, leading the business through a huge transformation from a large grower cooperative to family owned and estate focussed. 

Chief Wine Maker

Mel started her career in the wine industry over 20 years ago. She is passionate about making wine her way, producing generous, fruit forward wine styles that are well balanced and can be enjoyed with or without food. Having been awarded many medals for her wines over the years, Mel continues to push herself by exploring new varieties and winemaking techniques that highlight the strengths of the Riverland.
Whilst Mel has worked in different wine regions in Australia as well as overseas over the past 2 decades, her heart has always led her back to the Riverland.

Winery Manager

Originally an Archaeology graduate, I spent my twenties travelling and working in wine bars and restaurants. This is where my love of wine was born. I then went back to university in the UK and studied Oenology and Viticulture. Upon completion of this course, I did several vintages as a flying winemaker, working in Tuscany, Napa, Greece, Languedoc, New Zealand and Australia.  I settled in South Australia and started a family. I became the winery manager in 2023. This new position has enabled me to use my winemaking knowledge to improve processes, drive efficiencies and improve wine quality.

Bulk Wine Sales | Customer and Commercial Manager

With more than 20 years of wine industry experience, Alicia has worked in a diverse range of roles, building extensive knowledge and expertise. Experience as a Laboratory Technician, Export and Logistics Manager and the Administration Manager, Alicia now holds the crucial role of our Customer and Commercial Manager, managing all of our bulk wine sales and enquiries.

Sales Manager | Bottled Wine

Michael has over 20 years of experience within the wine industry, across a wide range of roles within Marketing and Sales functions. The driving force behind our bottled wine business, Michaels extensive experience in DTC, Export and Commercial Sales leaves him well placed to bring our bottled wine program to life.
